I behaves the same way a regular vacuum would if you come in from the wrong angle. Roomba goes over it and depending on which direction it is heading it might make a strip stand up but it does fine. Roomba does it no harm. Your robot vacuum would most likely have a hard time dealing with carpet fringes especially if they are longer than a few inches. Few robots can cross rugs that are woven from long fibers or even ones that have tassels without. For area rugs with longer tassels fold the tassels under the carpet.

Robot vacuums are usually built the same way with rotating brushes picking up dust and debris as is moves along. I can always cut off the fringe but i didn t really want to. Not that it went away but decorative edging on rugs fell out of favor in our household. To start this vacuum has a d shape design that allows it to clean the wall edges efficiently.

Roomba 600 series robot vacuums have two counter rotating brush rolls mounted in a suspension system a design that makes the bot a more effective cleaner on thicker rugs. I would recommend picking up a fuzzy fringy rug before launching the roomba. Plush area rugs can be comfortable to walk on but they often act as a traps for a robot vacuum. It was released this year and took over from the irobot i7 but while the i7 sacrifices power and runtime the s9 packs all the features you d want from a carpet robot vacuum.

Either that or roll the edge up in a way to let to roomba think it hit a wall. I sweep every effing day and i need a robot vacuum to take care of the hair. As long as the strands on the carpet aren t long it should work fine. So at least based on a 2 1 2 inch long fringe it does a great job.
